Is it possible to use this forum in a more flat way like m.retropie.org.uk or without JS active? I run into many issues using it compared to say PHPbb or the like.
The text field is no input field, but some live-rendering container
Therefore you can't place your cursor or resize the input field
Endless scrolling stalls browsing through posts
On a phone posts keeps shuffling and adding in between for like 10 seconds after the page loads.

If not possible, are there more classic forums on the net discussing Retropie? The FB group I used to ask questions is closed.

Just found out by inspecting the source this runs on NodeBB, and they don't support non-JS posting and editing. Will be looking elsewhere.

@blanka we had lots of discussion when choosing a new forum, we decided against the older themes in favour of a more simple modern look with a lighter footprint than something like discourse but more stable than flarum. All the same it is a vast improvement from the old forum in speed, style, and stability

@herb_fargus I do not agree on speed and stability. Editing a post is nearly impossible for example. Often the speed is eximined from a server-perspective. What you gain on your side, is lost in multiples on the client side.

I've looked at some of you're other posts. It seems like you might be running an older computer. Could this be the issue? If it's an older Mac for example, I know that certain versions of Safari tended to have a lot of trouble with Ajax, in which case Firefox or Chrome become almost mandatory for a stable web experience. The fact that the site triggers your fans is what's most troubling. If you don't mind me asking, exactly what are the specs of the computer you're using here?

I browse and post off my 4 year old Kindle Fire HDX as well as my Android M phone and have no issues at all. I'd check how old your browser is mate and maybe try a newer one.

With so many up-to-date devices glitching out on you, the only thing I can think of is some sort of strange environmental issue, but I can't imagine what would cause the kind of problems you're experiencing.

My circa 2007 Macbook running Firefox 48.0.2 works quite well on this forum. I also have no problems on Chromium 55 on GalliumOS 2.1 on a circa 2015 Chromebook or on an iPhone 6S or iPad Air 2 running Safari on IOS 10.2.1

I have sporadic problems with the ajax not firing for continuous scrolling, so I have to refresh. Also at times the reply button doesn't work so I have to refresh. Other times the little box with orange lettering saying "connection problem" will pop up every second or so until I refresh.

This happens on both Firefox and Chrome, on both my home and work computers.

@dankcushions For me ctrl+f opens the search bar in the header. If I want to use the inbuilt browser search function I have to ctrl+f twice.
