Ports > Kodi - Do not put TV into standby on exit
-
I've just installed kodi via the setup menu - all good! One thing I noticed was that when you quit kodi, it puts your TV into standby mode. Neat idea if you're running a standalone kodi box, but this isn't ideal are you're running it within emulationstation, as you'd expect to exit back there rather than just cut the display.
There is a setting that stops this within Kodi, but I thought it would be better to make it the default option. Recalbox seem to have had the same idea: https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/issues/254
Thoughts?

I might've mentioned this in the previous forum ages ago, and got no answers. I then stumbled onto multibootpi and now I boot different partitions: retropie, rasplex, and libreelec kodi..which I easily managed to update it to krypton through its menu. That also ended my problems I was having with plex addons on kodi by using rasplex. The multiboot maker also put shortcuts to the other partitions within the apps. That small issue in retropie's kodi opened up a whole new world for me, heh.

This is a default setting in Kodi's CEC in the Raspberry Pi, all OSs that I know have that option enabled by default including Open/Libreelec.
You can change it easily in System -> System -> Input Devices -> Peripherals -> CEC Adapter -> Devices to poweroff on shutdown -> None.It can be changed by default, will see what can be made.

but those devices will typically be kodi boxes booting straight into kodi and turning off when you you exit kodi, which is not the case for us.

Sure. I will change that in the next Kodi update, if no one objects.

@Rascas has my vote, first thing I always do is turn off the cec setting.
-
@Rascas yes please, thanks so much

@BennyProfane Ok, it is already set, it will be on the next build.
