Problem running RetroPie first time.
-
I am trying to build an arcade game for my Grandchildren. I purchased a Raspbberry Pi3 and installed Raspbian for the Pi3 and then installed RetroPie. What I would like to do is install some ROMs before wiring up the Raspberry Pi to the arcade so that I don't have to do a lot of data transfer after it is all wired in. When I boot up RetroPie, it displays the welcome screen, states that no game controller was detected and asks for a key on the device to be pressed. My understanding is that this setup is for the RetroPie menu and not for the game controller.
I follow the prompts and select keys on the keyboard all the was through until in finally comes to the “OK” button at the end but when I press the <Enter> key with the “OK” button selected nothing happens. It is like the enter key is not functioning. I have retried this several times and the problem is the same each time. Anyone able to suggest how to get passed this welcome screen to where I can add some ROMs?
Thanks

@Columbo You'll have to use the key you configured as "A" button...

you should read the wiki https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/First-Installation

Thank you very much for the quick response. I'll give that a try and I'll check out the link you posted as well. Thanks.
