      As the title suggests i'm having difficulty trying to figure out enable the memory card for my retro pi 3. This is my first time working with a Pi as I just got it for christmas. I'm running the newest version of Retro pie as I have been working on it all weekend. I uploaded some PSX roms that I own in real life as well to play and have been playing through a multidisc RPG and would like to make a save file instead of a Save state which has been sufficing for now. I am heading towards a disc change and have no clue how to navigate that. Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks

          What happens when you try to create a save file or save to the memory card?

          Do you have a bios loaded and are you able to run the bios and see the memory card manager?

          The disc change is very easy, at the end of the first disc it will ask you to save. Just save and exit, then load up the next disc and load your game save it should let you proceed with no issues. I have never had a problem.

            You have to have a bios file to save to the PSX memory card. It is a function of the system bios.

            Most PSX games will play without a bios file, but you can only save using Save States this way instead of the memory card.

            I haven't done multi-disk games, so not sure on that one.

              Question:

              What happens with pbp files (psxonpsp) that are all discs in one file? On the PSP, you press the menu button and select which disc you want there.

                @liquidzoo I don't know to be honest, I only use .bin/.cue or .iso. I did a bit of looking and those pbp files seem to be really handy for multi track games so maybe I will check them out.

                I found this post on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/46w0tf/playstation_1_and_pbp_files/

                Looks like any psx emulator Retropie will run them you just have to set up hotkeys to switch discs.

                Hope that helps.

                  Thanks for your responses everything. Some interesting things I found out is that you can switch disks by going to an ingame menu by pressing Select X or Y can't remember exactly which button. But than you can go into the settings and virtually eject and put the new disc in. I still haven't figured out how to make a bios file in order to save which would be great since it would allow me to play the new game + which is what I really want.

                    @Kilika

                    You need to find a PSX bios file and put it in your BIOS directory. Try looking for SCPH1001.BIN or
                    scph5501.bin those are both very common.
