Conkers bad furday (n64) - Pi 3

Heylo. Ive been googling on getting conkers bad furday to play smoothly- so far all I've been able to find is that this game is gonna be laggy, even on the pi3. Have any of you been able to get it running smoothly? If yes, what steps would you recommend (without overclocking)? If not, well, thats a bummer :-) ! Cheers,

has always been a tough oneand I don't know of any ay to get it to run smoother. N64 emulation is orders of magnitute more complex than most other systems, so it's not a matter of just needing an OC (or a faster system). At some point, high end PCs can do a decent job, but it has always been a tough system to emulate. This is mainly due to many developers writing their own microcode for games (and often different versions for newer games as they improved the code). This means that each game has to be emulate to a small extent, not just the hardware.
From my experience, the best N64 emulation is Rare Replay on the Xbox One (the update control scheme is nice as well). Even the Wii VC games could be hit or miss.

That might explain why some n64 working great while others are unplayable.
Still would love to hear if someone did find a way to run the game better by tweaking some settings.

I forgot to mention earlier that there is a compatibility list on the main N64 wiki page: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Nintendo-64
If anyone does get things running better, it would get updated there.

@mrbwa1 Great I'll keep an eye on that list-
