@Msitaz
Try using "mupen64plus-2rice"
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4689/donkey-kong-64-works-n64 -
I've already tried switching to "rice" but still keeping the shuttering
what i also tried is using an other rom but even then the issue remains -
@Msitaz
Are you using any overclocking settings? I've had issues with PSX games doing the same thing when I had my Pi overclocked. Also it might be a heat issue (The RPi3 gets a little hotter than the RPi2). Do you see the red thermometer "overheating" icon on the top right of your screen? Try blowing a fan on your RPi3 to cool it. -
@backstander
There is no thermometer in screen, i got an semi passive heatsink (fan is blowing through the case)
and i've looked at the OC settings but it says the RPi3b can't be overclockedcpu is arround 60° C. (used an on contact fluke thermometer)
resolution of the emulator is RetroPie default (320x240)
not Using RPi texture scaling or resolution scaling
(only zoom at my tv)a.k.a all other settings are on default

(only zoom at my tv)
Okay I have another idea. I couldn't hear any sound on that video but just to verify, was the sound choppy like the video or was it just the video choppy only?
If it's just the video choppy only, it could be something with the TV.
You might try some of these and see if it helps with your video lag:- First, if your TV has Game Mode then turn that on!
- Second, disable any power saving settings or ambient screen dimming.
- Third, turn off all post-processing effects on your TV like dynamic contrast, etc.
- Forth, make sure you're not daisy chaining the HDMI through an Xbox or another device (sometimes even amplifiers can delay signals).
- Fifth, also test with each HDMI port in the back of the TV. Sometimes 1 or 2 HDMI ports are faster than the rest.
- Last, maybe try other TVs and monitors to see if you still have video lag.
Also see if the zoom is causing the choppy video.

well the audio plays well but i've muted my tv after hearing the song for an hour over and over
my HDMI cable(1.4) is directly connected to HDMI 1(arc&cec compatible)
normaly i got my WII U running at it and so i got that HDMI channel on Game mode
also tried running on my monitor and same problem
is there maybe an fixing cheat/shark code
or something? because its only in donkey kong 64 and only the camera that is spam re-aiming.
i don't got any complaints about other n64 games -
@msitaz I have the same issue.
Did you solve it?
