@Morphy Did you start from a standard image or install on top of Raspbian(Or using Berryboot - just want to confirm which image you started with) ? Does pressing a button on a keyboard make a difference ?

I think its based on the RP image, it has attract mode preinstalled. I basically have noobs SD partition then RP and OE. Its running on a separate USB drive for root fs.
If I connect a usb kb then press a button the display appears again. Its like its going to standby however its only the shell that blanks, emulationstation and roms are fine.

@Morphy You have the screenblanker activated. You need to add consoleblank=0 to the /boot/cmdline.txt boot parameters.

You have this problem because you are using a 3rd party image - which we don't offer support for. Recommend you use an official image.

Also you said you had a Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website - which is not the case, so please provide accurate information when reporting issues.

Ahh ok thats what that was for! I've been experimenting with options on cmdline and I thought that did something else. Sorry, this image is based upon the official RP image though so I took that as an accurate answer. I have been using the official RP image for some time however I've recently been testing a 3rd party image which has attract mode and its virtually identical to the official one. This issue was unrelated to it being 3rd party or not but I can understand your reluctance to help. Thanks anyway, knew it was something simple.
