      During active game play, if I walk away for a bit of time (Have kids that require my attention from time to time), the game is still running, (For Example, Grandia II on Dreamcast [Reicast] music in background still plays, characters still moving around) but nothing I do with the PS3 Controller or USB keyboard, will allow me to resume the game. It is as if the usb function goes to sleep and refuses to wake back up.

      Some things to note: PS3 Controller, has to be turned back on, as they go to sleep, (resyncing seems to work correctly as it gets assigned as controller 1), keyboard is wireless, I have unplugged, re-plugged the usb dongle, as well as plugged in a usb keyboard directly, with no effect.

      Any ideas on how to get the game to continue, if you leave the game for a short while? (Not sure how long maybe greater than 10 minuets?)

      Things I have tried / looked at:
      consoleblank=0 (I did find this in cmdline.txt)
      Disable Screen Blanker (I hit 'enter under "Raspbian Related Tools")

      My System Specs:
      Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
      I have PINN (an enhanced version of NOOBS, as a boot loader)
      Retro Pie runs underneath of PINN (I don't believe this matters much, with regard to resolution)
      Emulation station V2.0.1A
      Controllers (Official PS3 Bluetooth Controller, Wireless Keyboard (can be wired in)
      Official Pi Screen ( I can also use HDMI; Not both at same time, but separately)

      I appreciate any help and support you may provide.

        @zelixsphere the controller can time out I believe. You should test with a standard RetroPie image to rule out something in your setup. Ignore my previous reply if you saw it, I misread your post.

          @BuZz Thank you very much for the reply. I have tested RetroPie, previously (prior to this SD card setup with PINN), last week (I failed to mention this above, my apologies) and same effect. I know the controller would normally shutoff after sitting for awhile. The issue is, although the controller will 'wake' back up, screen doesn't reflect this fact. Instead, any animation or sound functions like normal, but I can not get the controls to respond. It is as if the USB becomes unresponsive. I know PC's have a USB selective suspend to conserve power. I am wondering if this may be the case, or if maybe there is some creative way to control what the raspberry pi does with power management, that a newbie such as myself, can work with. I appreciate any help!!

            One up this for unsolved mystery. I know the wireless controller I use a PS3 dualshock, if it goes to sleep runs out of battery or if I resync to the pi, emulator seems to lose the passthrough from the device either SDL or UDEV, I don't know. In these cases there is no way to resume the game. I'd like to solve this issue, I don't know where to start.

              This issue also happens when using an 8BitDo bluetooth controller on amiberry and mame-mame4all.
