Whenever I start an emulator from Emulation Station and I see the "Press a button to configure launch options" i'm never able to access it no matter which controller or keyboard I use. My controllers work fine within the emulators themselves, but never on the launching screen to allow me to access the launch configs. Any ideas? Thanks!

@SkittleBrau79 Just mash the buttons. It will come up. Also go into Run Command Config on the RetroPie configuration menu and ensure you have "Launch Menu" set to enabled.

Thanks Robocop. I had Launch Menu set to enabled, but somehow the option to allow gamepad input was set to disabled. Problem solved. Thanks again!

@SkittleBrau79 I think it's set to disabled by default so that you don't end up in the settings by accident. I also assumed this was to keep kids and non-technical people out of the run command settings where they could easily mess with and break stuff.

@markyh444 as far as I know it is enabled by default, though there is a setting to disable the joystick without disabling runcommand altogether

@skittlebrau79 Where did you find the option to allow gamepad input. I got the same problem!

The option is in the runcommand entry in the RetroPie menu on Emulation Station.
