So I put the newest image of retropie on a raspberry pi 3 board today and overall everything is working well. However no game outputs sound through the hdmi to the tv. I know that the sound over hdmi has been an issue and I found some guides for older images to get it working but they're very out of date. Can anyone help a newb out with what exact steps are needed to get sound working?

@Charononus have you gone into the audio settings within the RetroPie config menu and forced HDMI? Do this, then reboot.
