Hdmi to vga adapter not working
-
@joelw23 if posting configs, please put them in a code block for readability http://commonmark.org/help/
-
I have also tried a usb cable that plugs in to the wall in case the pi3 wasn't giving enough power...
monitor is still in power save mode with no signal.
-
the company that sold the adapter is sending me a new one to try...
hopefully this one is defective.
-
@joelw23 this could be a possible issue or it was from how you copy and pasted, but why do all the words "uncomment" not have hashtag "#" in front of them?
-
must be how it copied an pasted...they do have a # in front of them in the config.txt file
-
Hmmm, I got this model :
https://www.amazon.es/cambiador-ordenador-portátil-Proyector-Raspberry/dp/B00F6RZZMU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1486660818&sr=8-6&keywords=hdmi+to+vgaAnd It worked for me, but needed to set "hdmi_drive=2" (uncomment the line in /boot/config.txt) for get a good quality image; if not, the colours looks strange.
Note: Uncomment means that you should delete that # to get that code line working (no spaces too)
-
@flop ditto. i use this same one. i also have another type that works too but i like this one much better because of quality
-
@joelw23 , I forgot it, when I use my vga - hdmi adapter, I need to make a "sudo reboot" via putty for get my monitor showing the image, it´s strange but it works (I put rpi ON, then via putty "sudo reboot" and the monitor displays the rpi)
-
turns out the adapter was bad...
they sent me a new one and it worked with no issues.
-
@joelw23 awesome. It sucks when you are relying on something as important as that and its defective.
