sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config blank file permissions issue?
-
Cant change sshd config as i cant see it when i use sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config it comes up as a blank file. :(
-
@chisharpe Have you enabled ssh?
-
yes
-
@chisharpe Have you accessed the Pi at least once using ssh?
-
yes i have. but its not just that. if i try to create a file lets say sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/10-retrogame.rules it says cant be written no such folder/ i cant get into any ect files from terminal or ssh and if i sftp it says permissions error 3 if i edit the files!
-
@chisharpe very strange. I have a fully populated sshd_config file and was able to create a test file in /etc/udev/rules.d using sudo nano with no permissions error.
-
@chisharpe in terminal type cd /etc/ssh and enter. Then type ls -al. Do you see the sshd_config listed?
-
-
@chisharpe I see your problem... you are typing ect... it's etc.
-
i was about to hulk thankyou so much i feel such a fool
-
@chisharpe sometimes it just takes another pair of eyes! The funny thing is you were typing it correctly on the forum. We've all been there.
