      So my suggestion is to replace ntpd with OpenNTPD on the RetroPie image provided on this site. For various security reasons, ntpd has some issues and it always uses port 123. No configuration will change it.

      This is also selfish request on my part. And for anyone else using AT&T for their home internet in the US. AT&T blocks source port 123 (UDP) if you use your own router. OpenNTPD uses a random port and will help with syncing time behind uncontrollable firewalls.

      I know it's very easy to install on your own. I was thinking that it's just one less thing to potentially cause issues for new users with little to no networking experience. Like my idiot buddies.
