I am having the following problem with Final Burn Alpha (lr-fbalpha2012): I am using individual config files for some roms which include individual overlay and video options (for example an street fighter arcade machine overlay for street fighter). When I play one of those roms, retroarch is overwriting the retroarch.cfg file of Final Burn Alpha with the settings of the individual rom config file. Is there a way to pretend this behavior? Its a problem for me, because only a few roms have an individual config file and I want, that the rest run with my standard retroarch settings. When I play pacman (which have an individual Overlay and Video Setting) an switch to Metal Slug, it keeps the pacman settings, which is annoying.

I am using Retropie 4.1 on a Raspberry Pi 3 powered by an official power supply (5,1 V DC, max. 2,5 A). Sandsik SD Card, 32 GB.

PS: I started this question in another topic and I hope now everything is conform with the forum rules.

@Water-White if you've turned 'save config on exit' on in your main (or rom) config, then that is expected. it loads up your override settings, and then saves them to your main config when you exit.

        two ways to avoid:

        • use retroarch per-game override files instead (i've not written any documentation on this but you can see examples in: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4046/crt-pi-shader-users-reduce-scaling-artifacts-in-lr-mame2003-lr-fbalpha-horizontal-and-vertical-games). These never migrate to your main cfg.
        • add config_save_on_exit = "false" to all your current overrides.
