I know this is not "fixing" the problem, but you can use
'git config --global url."https://".insteadOf git://'
to tell git to use HTTPS instead of GIT which worked out for me

remove and re-install the xpad driver from retropie-setup. btw did you install and remove attractmode at some point ? Looks like you have some attractmode configs left over, but attractmode isn't installed.
-
@BuZz yes I wanted to see what attract looked like. I'll give that a try and see what happens. Is there a folder I can delete for attract mode as well?
-
@emulatedpurple you can remove the config folder
/opt/retropie/configs/all/attractmode

@BuZz Solved*

@BuZz Quick Question, I'm getting the same error. But do i need xpad if i'm using a Logitech F710? I was thinking of just deinstalling some stuff anyways that i don't need, but sometimes it's hard to tell whats needed. :)
-
@EctoOne it helps with the mapping of analogue triggers in es (makes them buttons). Did you update retropie-setup since the fix?
-
@BuZz What fix? I updated like 12 hours ago and got the error. I only noticed this thread now.
-
@EctoOne it's been fixed. There was another thread also about it.
-
@BuZz Well Ok then, i'll try later. Thanks for answering my question about keeping it. :)
