Audio Errors in Video Splash

I have recently created a video splash that I want to use, and while it plays fine during the "test video splash" option inside of ES, when I actually go to boot the audio cuts in and out. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem or how to fix it?
System stats are as follows:
Retropie 4.1
Pi 3
32 gb
~30s video in .mp4 format
