AdvanceMame not loading roms, wrong emulator folder in runcommand.log?
-
Hi,
AdvanceMame will not load ROMs. Other emulators run Ok.
Raspberry Pi3 with official PS.
Retropie 4.1 from downloaded img file.
Not updated after that because I´m not sure of what I should update.
Installed advancedmame from Retropie Setup menu.In runcommand.log I can see that it is looking for the binary in:
/opt/retropie/emulators/advmame/0.94.0/bin/advmame "romnamehere"
but in the system that path does not exist¡.If I change in runcommand options to version 1.4 then it uses (in the log):
/opt/retropie/emulators/advmame/1.4/bin/advmame "romnamehere"in the filesystems it just exists 1 folder: /opt/retropie/emulators/advmame/bin/advmame
it is like the runcommand scrip thinks that there should be two different advancemame folders but there is only one.
So what version is what i have installed?I tried to remove and reinstall the advmame package and no results. Also I read the topic:
[https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/8669/advancemame-no-longer-working](link url)
but symlinks name there are correctly set. So this is other issue. Please help, I am not sure to update anything without knowing what´s happening.
Thanks

@rulmismo advMame has been split into 3 with the latest update. 0.94, 1.4 and advmame (which is currently 3.3). You should update your setup script then install what is missing. Make sure you install all 3 versions. When launching a rom press a button to bring up the runcommand menu and set which version to use for that rom. I ran into an issue with games that ran on 0.94.0 previously, I had to update them and change to 0.94 as the path was obviously different now. Did this and they all launch and run again.

Thanks, that worked like a charm.
Some issues now with Advmame1.4 not seeing start and select in my xbox360 controller (so no insert coin or "home" t o emstation). Should I edit the controller config manually or there a easier workaround? -
@rulmismo just open the MAME menu in game using
TAB
and configure input per ROM or per Core.
