No emulaturs and rom-transfer doesn't work
-
Hi there,
I'm new to retropie and have just finished a tiny setup, using a Raspberry Pi Zero V1.3 in a 3d-printed cover. I'm using retropie 4.1. So far so good!
My problem is that I'm stuck with just the retropie screen (saying "13 games available") but NO emulators to scroll through, and no games to start. I've read that it needs roms to be transfered first, but that doesn't work either.
I'm using a USB-stick, put a folder "retropie" on it and insert it into the device. When I remove it again and check on the computer, I find the correct folder-structure with a "roms" folder and a lot of empty folders in it, as should be.
But new roms that I store into these folders do not show up on the device after I put the stick back there. No emulators either! I tried two Amiga roms with" *.adf " at the end. No success.
Just now I removed my own SD-card and used another one from a user who has installed emulators and roms before. Those I can see and even start the games. But again, I can't add new roms to it! They wont pop up after restart.
What do I do wrong? Please help!

Pressing the Start options, other settings, save meta data and parse gamelist, it could be one of those, I had a similar issue and was swearing a lot, think this thread may of solved it.
I know it was a simple option that solved it.

@MadRikXIV
Thanks for trying to help, no success though. I did scraping just now, NO change!
I believe my main problem ist that I have no emulators on the main-screen (why?). It's just the Retropie-Logo sitting there like glued. Nowhere to scroll to. But when I log in to the raspberry by WinSCP, I can see the roms sitting in their folders, just laughing at me. I feel really stupid :( -
@basteluwe you won't see any systems unless you have roms with the right file extension in the right place. perhaps a screenshot would help us?

Well, the mistake was mine altogether!
As I said: I'm new to this. What I didn't know was, that I can't just create new folders in the ROM directory manually and than move ROMs into it. It needs the emulators to be installed FIRST. By doing that the folders will pop up automaticly.
Now everything works just fine.
Thanks for trying to help.
