As the title states, which systems in Retropie require headers in the roms for them to work? I'm trying to organize my sets and it seems I may have some sets that do not contain headers, which I understand means they won't play in Retropie. I know NES requires headers. I'm guessing that means the Famicom (not the disk system) does too, since the file extension also ends in .nes and runs in the same NES emulators? So what about the Famicom DIsk System, Atari Lynx, Atari 7800, and SNES?

I checked the docs, and only the NES doc mentions headers. So is the NES/Famicom the only system that needs headers? I'm a bit confused because in the fds doc it doesn't mention headers, but in the nes doc, it says this:

"Accepted File Extensions: .zip .nes .smc .sfc .fig .swc .mgd - Make sure your roms have headers."

It lists every file extension but .fds, but above that in the list of exensions it does list .fds for both lr-fceumm and lr-nestopia. So do the fds games require headers or not?

All I really need to know is if the Famicom Disk System .fds files require headers to run. If someone is familiar with the fds on Retropie, maybe they can answer this?

Anybody? Somebody must be familiar with fds.

@groviar no idea myself as I don't use it, but best way to find is to try it out and see!

@groviar Well I know this is a super late response but here goes. I have successfully played many FDS titles from no-intro on current retropie software. I don't know how relevant this is to you today. Also atari lynx tends to require headered roms to work at least with beetle-lynx.
