Do the roms need to be zipped or unzipped
-
Unzipped.
The wiki page lists all of the acceptable file extensions:

@BenWlson so do i just unzip roms and put them in megadrive roms folder am i correct sir
-
@cparker74 try it and see.
-
My roms are zipped and working fine
No need to unzip.
.7z is not supported. -
@cparker74 That's what I've done with mine. I've found that Sselph's scraper seems to be quicker and more reliable than the inbuilt one - instructions are here https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/scraper
Note that cheats don't work in either of the Sega emulators at present.
-
Didn't realize you didn't have to unzip them. Good to know.

@Thiago1101
I beed looking into this as well, i'm getting reading to add the roms that i had collected to the USB drive for the Retropie on my Pi 4
So, I have a good many downloaded in zip files. Do i unzip them or they will play on the retrop still zip -
@raspberry79 Please don't bump old topics - the poster hasn't been active for 3 years and it's very inlikely they'll respond. Check the Docs for each emulator to find out the supported extensions and if you still have issues, open a new topic/add to one of you recent topics.
