      Hi everyone,

I'm new to the retropie scene so forgive me if I ask a dumb question, but I haven't been able to scrounge up any answers for my issue.

I am unable to configure the controls for the N64 or the PSX, however SNES is perfect!.

On N64, try as I may I cannot bring up the retro-arch menu to configure controls. I've tried the following:

      1. Manually editing the cfg in n6f/retroarch.cfg (no effect)
-making sure the inputs I was typing in were above that line
-ensuring they were the correct input button maps
      2. Hitting every key on my keyboard to bring up the retroarch menu
      3. Hitting every button combination
      4. Holding 'x' on the keyboard as the game launches
      5. Holding 'f1' on the keyboard as the game launches

On PSX I am able to get the menu to come up. But the only change that seems to take effect is the menu hotkey for the controller. I am unable to actually play the game itself. And before you ask, yes it saves on exit.

Once again, SNES is the only system I've been able to get running correctly.

I'm running a Raspberry Pi 3 with an xbox wireless receiver.

I've been scratching my head at this all week to no avail.

@demerson psx: you have multi tap and analog core options turned off? these options will stop input working unless the original game specifically supported multitap and/or analog controls.

and you have a valid bios file?

I have the exact same problem, but with the Shanwan PS3 controller.

Is it because there is no Select button on the N64 (since I'm trying Select + X to invoke RGUI)?

Pi Model or other hardware: 3 B+
          Power Supply used: Standard
RetroPie Version Used: 4.1 with updated packages.
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Shanwan PS3 and keyboard

@dankcushions Its been a long time since I made this post, my appologies for not responding sooner. Got caught in one hell of a sprint at work.

Taking your input into consideration I've tried to following:

            1. Reinstall retro-pie to ensure that everything is running stock as I had an Idea that I had screwed with the retropie.cfg files too much.
            2. Spin up a PSX ROM and enter the RGUI
            3. Set the Joypads to standard and disable the multi-tap

RESULT: Still the same issue. I am unable to do anything in the game.

I am also still having the issue with N64 where I am unable to enter the RGUI from the rom using keyboard or joypad.

Starting to pull my hair out. All I want to do is play Legend of Mana and Mario Party 2 -_-

@demerson did you download the psx bios and put it in the bios folder? SCPH1001.BIN You need to have it all in caps.

@edmaul69 Yep, Game boots up perfectly. The only problem is I cannot control it whatsoever.

So an update to what I've tried.

                  1. I found this post and set the hotkey button to the 10 (xbox guide).
                  2. I set the menu input toggle to f1
                  3. I ran apt-get update / upgrade

None of the above solved my problem. 1 & 2 did indeed change the hotkey button, but only in non 64 emulators and the 3rd one seemed to screw up my controls really bad. So I deleted the cfg's in the hopes it would restore the controls and upon reboot everything was working really funky.

I think I'm going to re-install and try again.

                  I'm really confused as:

                  1. The documentation doesn't seem to match what I'm experiencing.
                  2. Changing configurations seems to cause random bugs.
                  3. No matter what I do I cannot control PSX games.

                  This is lunacy.

I will re-install and try again, but does anybody have a dump of working .cfg files for for the xbox 360 wireless remote with dongle? I feel like thats the only way I can confirm this isn't a bug.

Once again I'm running a pi3 with xbox 360 wireless remotes.
