lr-armsnes vs lr-snes9x2002/lr-snes9x2005
-
I am a bit confused about which version of PocketSNES (therefore which version of snes9x) is the ARMSNES core based upon. If I remember correctly, lr-snes9x2002 used to be called lr-pocketsnes and lr-snes9x2005 was lr-catsfc (or something similar).
Any ideas?

Bump, it's still not all that clear...

ARMSNES appears to have been forked from PocketSNES in 2012. PocketSNES doesn't seem to have had any updates since 2004. From what I found through a quick search, the latest version of PocketSNES is based on snes9x 1.43.

@mediamogul armsnes is pocketsnes with a few minor changes - the original repository was removed/closed and is just provided for historic reasons. I would just stick with lr-snes9x2002
-
Ah, I see. I actually use lr-snes9x2010 myself. Is lr-snes9x2002 preferable still?
-
@mediamogul depends which RPI you are on. It's faster but less accurate. I wouldn't use armsnes over snes9x2002, but you don't want to use snes9x2002 unless you have a rpi1/zero
-
@BuZz do you have retroachievements working with snes9x-2002?
-
@meleu I've never tried it.
