Using old save states for coverted psx file
-
My wife made it through the first disc of Final Fantasy IX before I realized that I should have used PBP files instead of bin files. I converted the files to PBP and added them to the roms, but was unable to use the old save states (the pbp files are named differently than the bin files).
I know the ps1 wiki page has a lot of information, but I don't fully understand if it's covering what I'm asking, and want some help before I totally screw everything up. Is there a way to use these old save states for the converted rom files? Would it work if I just changed the names of the files so they are exactly the same (minus extension)? Also, currently the bin and converted pbp files have one file for each disc. I now have a pbp file that I believe is for all discs, which I think fits more with the tutorials that I've seen for switching discs. Is there a way to use the old state files from individual discs with this new pbp file containing all discs? Thanks for your help!

In case the answer wasn't obvious, or if anyone is interested. The old save states worked with both bin and pbp files as long as the file names were identical.
