      Hi all. I wanted to ask for help if I could. I recently build a mini arcade cabinet with the retropie program. I am using a "zero delay arcade game controller usb joystick" kit. Dragon fire I think it's called? Anyway, all my emu's work fine with this joystick, except name. The left is up, the up is right, etc. And every time I try to get into the Mame controller option menu through the TAB on the keyboard, I cannot get into the options. It won't scroll, or enter. The keyboard works fine when I go into retropie config menus no problem. But once I am in name, forget it. Only Tab works. But I have noticed that I can control the game in the background with the arrow keys while the tab menu is up? Anyone ever have this issue? Any ideas how to fix this? Any info will be very appreciated. Thank you.

          It'll help to draw in opinions and possibilities if you fill out the requested information found at https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

          There are a few things to suggest off hand, but without a little information about your setup, there's no good starting point to begin from.

          RetroPie v4.5 • RPi3 Model B • 5.1V 2.5A PSU • 16GB SanDisk microSD • 512GB External Drive

                The aversion people have to visiting that page is uncanny. I'd actually feel safe storing my credit card information there.

                  @mediamogul Hahaha, yeah, well if YOU had actually read it you would see I have stored my credit and debit card details, their PIN numbers, my bank account sort code and a/c number, my mother's maiden name, my d.o.b. and my social security number. Any chance you could transfer some money into those accounts for me? Thanks in advance...

                      @RoswellWitness there are a number of bashers in this forum. It has happened to me. When they are asking about your setup, they want to know the actual hardware and software you are using ie; Raspberry pi version 3 and stuff like that. I have had the same problem as you with MAME and arcade sticks, so keep asking your questions. Sorry I do not have an answer for you on this one

                        @doctorstork I don't think it's an accident you have -14 reputation - you are not a victim.

                        People are giving up their free time to help you, so the least you can do is read the read me first link (properly). We are all tired of repeating it again and again - despite the fact it's in bold at the top of every page and you have to press "AGREE" when registering to say you have read it.

                        The post clearly states what information to provide when posting.

                          @RoswellWitness

                          No one has responded with the intent of bashing you and none of this is about how tech savvy you are. It's just that we've now directed you to read and follow the instructions of a very short page that is also noted at the top of every page and that you also agreed to have read as part of signing up here. Our frustration is only that after being told in three different contexts what we need in order to help you, that you would still choose to ignore our requests.

                          @doctorstork

                          When you first got here, you had the same resistance to give any of us even the most basic information about your setup. As I remember, it got to the point where people believed you to be a troll.

                                  Another word to the wise, try not to anger @meleu up there. He once shot a man for using tabs instead of spaces.

                                        @RoswellWitness I'm pretty sure that when you follow the advices in the read-me-first post and give the needed info to get help the help will come in a couple of minutes and jokes will stop.

                                        C'mon man! I know you're better than that!! ;-)
