So I have this game running fine, but I have the problem that there isn't any sound! I checked the compatibilty list and it doesn't mention any known issue with sound. MAME also doesn't throw any warning about this game having no sound.

I've tried with both mame4all and mame2010 and both have the same result. Sound is working fine on all other games/emulators. I feel the sound should work and I'm wondering if everyone else has the same issue as me?

Pi Model or other hardware: RPI3 model B
      Power Supply used: official
RetroPie Version Used: 4.2 (had the same issue when on 4.1 also)
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: None
Controller used: Official SNES controller via USB adapter
      Error messages received: none

@Macaque The game runs fine in lr-mame2003 using the correct ROM from the 0.78 ROM set. There is sound, however it is VERY low. I had to pump up the volume to about 4 times normal in order to hear it. I tried turning it up using the game settings in the MAME TAB menu but it didn't really do much. It's just one of those things unfortumately. The sound may be sorted in one of the later MAMEs, if you have the correct updated ROM (if indeed it has been updated).

Apologies, I meant mame2003. Thanks for the info, after reading your post I had another idea, and I've found the best way to fix the sound:

In the tab menu, switch on test mode (the place where you set free play, adjust difficulty etc for the game). In that menu there is a volume control option for the game itself. It's down at the minimum volume by default, crank it up and the sound is fine.

Other Midway arcade games such as Mortal Kombat have the same issue and I see they all use the same sound chip. I haven't checked but I expect the same method will work.
