I'd like to use different buttons than the default in EmulationStation for navigation, without affecting the controller configuration for each of the emulators. For example, I'd like the navigation to be more PSX-like, where the X button is used as the Yes/Navigate/Launch action and the Triangle button is used as the No/Go Back/Cancel action. At the same time, I want to make sure the emulators don't get remapped as a result. e.g.: I know I could teach EmulationStation that, say, Button 3 should be interpreted as Button 1, but I'm afraid that emulators will also have this mismapping.

Is it possible to do this?

      Using a Rpi3, RetroPie 4.2, ES 2.1.6

      Thanks!
      -Jeff

@j.e.f.f you can manually configure the es_input.cfg file

@herb_fargus heh! So I gave this a shot, and it turns out I don't actually like the button configuration! Maybe I'm just so used to the default config, but the change just felt... wrong.

Anyway... I put it back to the default. Thanks for your suggestion!
