PS1 change disk problem

RetroPie 4.2 from official pre-built image
16gb Sandisk SD Card
128Gb Sandisk Ultra Fit USB Stick (with ROMs using retropie-mount functionality)
XBox 360 Wireless Controller
Official Pi 5.1v 2.5A power supplylr-pcsx-rearmed r22 libretro/Retroarch 1.5
Driver 2 with 2 disk bin/cue filesI can't find this particular issue in the manual or support forum.
Right then - I'm trying to swap discs - so i go to Disk Control in the Retroarch menu -> Disk Cycle Tray Status -> Open Virtual Tray then go to Disk Image Append and when looking for the disk 2 no files are found anywhere:-
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx
/media/usb0/retropie-mount/roms/psxIn fact it finds no files anywhere (in any folder) except .PNG files as far as i could see.
The .pbp versions do not work with my save file. This was working fine in my last build which i believe was 4.0.2....
Any ideas? I'm loathed to go back to an older build - I haven't done this for a couple of months and hopefully I've just missed something obvious - which is quite common for someone of my age!

It can "see" zip files by the looks of it. Is the file type filter incorrect?

See my post here:

You don't need to append any file. You only need to "open" disk tray, swap to the next disk and "close" disk (i don't remember the name of the menu options".
But i don't know if your save will work, because you need to always launch the .m3u file
With .pbp format you don't need to create a .m3u file

Thanks for the response. Previously I haven't used M3U files. It should be possible to append the disk image manually but the file browser in the RGUI is not displaying ANY files (just folders and zips).
There's a Retroarch config setting "menu_navigator_browser_filter_supported_extensions_enable" but explicitly setting it (true or false) doesn't make any difference.
I'll create the M3U files instead and see what happens. I backed up my old image (hopefully) so I'll see what the difference is because manually appending definitely worked on that one.
-
I got it working by creating the M3U file. However, it wouldn't work without the .cue extension for some reason. So I'll need to declutter the listing in ES by manipulating the es config file (possibly).
Thanks.

@Dominus works in 4.2 for me. i edited my playstation 3's controller configs and made hotkeys for the eject, disc prev and disk next. you could do this for your controller config but you need to match your controllers numbers. i set disk prev and next on the bumper. i put disk eject on "x" and moved menu to "b"
input_menu_toggle_btn = "14" input_reset_btn = "1" input_enable_hotkey_btn = "0" input_exit_emulator_btn = "3" input_disk_eject_toggle_btn = "12" input_disk_next_btn = "11" input_disk_prev_btn = "10"

@edmaul69 Yeah but will that work in SegaCD? Next disc doesn't always work with all games.

I just tested this with SegaCD and it shows the files and appends discs for me.

@mediamogul im on retropie 4.2.2 and it shows absolutely 0 files to append. No files show up. Only folders.
-
Was it just the last update that caused this?
-
What version of RetroArch are you using?
/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch --version
Edit:
Mine is:
RetroArch: Frontend for libretro -- v1.5.0 -- 51581e1 -- Compiler: GCC (4.9.2) 32-bitBuilt: Mar 19 2017

@mediamogul mine is the exact same as yours.
-
@mediamogul Yep I get the same version as well.

-
@mediamogul awesome! Please let us know.

Well, I thought me being able to append discs might have something to do with the Netplay fix I have on my setup, but I disabled it and I'm still able to browse, select and append discs regardless. The only other thing off the top of my head that I can think of is that I have the content directory path pointed to my ROMs folder, so that might be worth trying.
