      Morning chaps,

New to all this, I've just ordered a Pi3 from pimoroni, with the sole intention of retrogaming.

So - the question is...will my PS3 controllers connect to the Pi? I've read lots about there being issues with the bluetooth, so I was thinking of initially trying them with the USB cable. Will this work instantly? Or will I need to do some jiggerypokery?

      Thank you :)(

You should be able to plug in in via USB and have it work right away. I think you may need to press the PS home button once after plugging it in to make it work.

The only caveat I've noticed is that the battery starts charging as well, so this could affect your ability to have anything else plugged into the pi at the same time due to the power consumption.

        I AM ERROR.

Thanks for this - I've brought a ps3 controller into work (hopefully the pi will arrive today!)

I'll see how it goes :)

If you open up the controller and remove the battery it will still work but only using a wire.

This way you don't have to worry about it charging and it also feels lighter.
