      hi,

i have ordered 2 bartop fightsticks online but i think it won't detect when i go diagonal.
It just doesn't press the buttons.
What can i do to fix this?

I know i could bend the metal but thats my last option for now.

      Any help is welcome!

@darky2003 Is the other end of the shaft hitting your panel cutout? I have seen joysticks mounted in thick wood panels that bump the sides of the drilled hole before hitting the limits of the joystick itself. When you look at the effect from the bottom, the actuator doesn't quite reach the microswitches. Solution might be to enlarge the hole in the panel a little. It looks like this is just barely missing it, so if this is your problem, just reaming around the upper rim of the hole might allow enough throw to reach the switches.

nah, wholes in the panel are big enough. Even when i hold the joystick in my hand (not mounted to the panel) it doesn't touch the buttons.

@darky2003 Weird. I wonder in that case what the manufacture has to say about a joystick that does not hit the diagonals. Maybe it is sold as a 4-way because that is how it sounds like it is functioning.

Are you sure it is constructed correctly? Sometimes there are multiple ways to install the shaft or orient the actuator to enable easier 8-way operation.

If all else fails, you could wrap tape around the actuator or slip a ring of PVC or anything that fits to make it thicker. I would probably do that before bending the microswitch triggers.

@darky2003 you dont have a 4-way restricter plate on the bottom of it do you? If so you need to loosen the screws an turn it a 1/8 of a turn and screw down. Can you post a pic of the bottom side of your joystick?

@darky2003 so you didnt get a square plastic piece to go on the shaft? this looks like one of the ones that would use a square piece for pressing the switches.
