      Raspberry Pi 3 Model B + PowerBlock

I'm looking to add standoffs to mount the PowerBlock to the rPi 3 and would like to see if there is a previously tested or known hole size and length that works best for this combination. Specifically the ideal space between the top of the rPi pcb and the bottom of the PowerBlock pcb.

Ultimately, I'll use standoffs to raise the rPi 3 from the bottom of my control panel and also to mount the PowerBlock to the rPi. A combination of female and male threaded standoffs with screws and washers.

It looks like #2's may work. Thoughts on size and vendor?

Note: This isn't tested, I'll report back when I get in the parts, which might be 3 weeks.

For my particular setup, I'm using a 2mm aluminum panel on the bottom. I plan on drilling holes in the panel to match up with the rPi 3.

On the non-PowerBlock side of the rPi, I'll have x2 3/4" #2 threaded female aluminum hex standoffs screwed in from the bottom with a washer then screwed in from the top.

On the PowerBlock side I'll have x2 3/4" #2 threaded male/female aluminum hex standoffs screwed in from the bottom with a washer, then the male tread can go through the rPi and attach to x2 7/16" #2 threaded female aluminum hex standoffs screwed in from the top of the PowerBlock.

Here's a parts list, wish me luck!

I made good experiences with 11mm stand-offs. 12mm also work well. I used these, but they are not stocked anymore.

Perfect thanks. What I measured is 7/16, which is juuuuust about 11mm.

Update: I fully tested everything on my list above and they work perfectly. You can use 11mm, 7/16", and 12mm between the rPi and PowerBlock.

Unfortunately, I can't edit that post to reflect this. :-)
