    Hi,

    Im looking at using the powerblock for my max2play streamer build to replace a damaged audiophonics pi-spc module, but have a few questions.

    1. Does the powerblock remove all power from the pi when shutdown?

    2. Can the powerblock be used without using the 6x2 header, and just use the 5v in (or usb-c socket), s1, s2 & 5v out terminals via wires connected to the pi? Or are other pi gpio pins required to be connected?

    Thanks in advance

      @jep_uk

      1 - Yes, it does cut off power to the pi.
      2 - You need the header connection for shutdown script to signal powerblock afaik, so you need those connections. I would personally recommend not putting anything in between powerblock and the pi, voltage drop could become an issue.

      I'm not an expert at powerblock, but this is my personal experience, and will probably be faster than an official response.

        Yes, you can use the 5v in (or usb-c socket), s1, s2 & 5v out terminals via wires instead of the pin header. As stated above, take care for good enough wiring and power source so that voltage drops do not become an issue.

          @petrockblog and @kmk many thanks for the replies.

          Sounds like it's a possible solution for me for then.

          Many thanks.
