        @retrofreak89 all the names i posted are the names of my .sh files. They are what show up in emulationstation.

              Back to Saturn X (either episode)
              UAC Ultra
              Sunlust
              Sunder
              BloodStain
              ZBlood
              Death Foretold
              Brutal Doom, Brutal Wolfenstein

              I like using perkristian's smooth weapon animations +"Random Deaths and Decoration" on the more vanilla wads to keep it feeling familiar, but also updated.
              (Smooth Doom also works for this, but the later versions are pretty jazzed up).

              Edit: Off topic, but check out "Arcane Dimensions" on QuakeSpasm for pc (just don't create a bunch of threads requesting a QuakeSpasm port, lol)

                i have a few questions i would like to bounce off of you if you dont mind

                1 for Aliens TC, what files do i need. i unzipped it and there are a few .wads in there. or do i need all of them

                2 does zdoom have hardware render or is that only gzdoom? im trying to play City Of The Damned: Apocalypse and it is telling me to turn on hardware rendering

                3 i have Strife to load, but the colors are all crazy. no other mod is doing that i dont have a clue where to start

                thx for any input

                  @exarkuniv 1 & 3 i will answer when i get home. 2. Yes you need gzdoom for that. Pirate doom only lets you play the first level and effs up the colors on level 2 and wont let you play for the same reason.

                    I have downloaded Doom mods for 20 years, or bought collections on CD and such.

                    am I the only one who would love to see a DOOM specific (ok Heretic and Hexen can join, as well as Wolfenstien 3D and such) distro for the Raspberry Pi?

                    RetroPie has simplified the emulation scene on the Pi, and it is wonderful. I know it plays DOOM like a champ, but I am thinking more of a system where the launchers for mods and maps are auto generated. Folders where you put files based on whatever segregation method makes sense to achieve the goal.

                    Maybe when I finish my degree (I am 40, so I work and go to school), I will have time to learn to program properly and put in some effort on something like this. But to be honest, I would prefer it to already be done.

                      @detron the problem with automating is that some mods require being loaded before others and there is no automation process that i could think of that would work properly for every situation without duplicates of the same file.

                        @exarkuniv ok so to answer your questions

                        1: this is what i have for aliens tc. you use doom 1 not doom 2 and i use these two files here:

                        zdoom = "/opt/retropie/ports/zdoom/zdoom -iwad /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/doom.wad -file /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/ALIENSTC.pk3 -file /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/zcoopm1.66.pk3

                        1. here is how i have strife. you do not use any doom wads with strife.
                        zdoom = "/opt/retropie/ports/zdoom/zdoom -iwad /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/doom/strife.wad"

                          @detron if you put doom 2, heretic, hexen, tnt and plutonia in there own folders in /roms/ports/ i believe it automates their configs.

                                I also found another cool mod Pro Doomer 3 it soposed to have a tonssss of levels as well but it runs really horrible om thinking it might need gzdoom for it to run smooth..
                                Same with Aliens Colonial Marines (doom mod )
                                Also lags rly bad especially the first level where Its snowing outside lol it just stutters like a bitch

                                  @edmaul69 Ed what sound options is better ? Opl sythensis sound OR timidy ++
                                  Trying to use one that uses less resources i want to tweak and get it running as smooth as possible also changing the audio channels from 32 down to 8 helps with performance a little bit
