Theme.. instructions to publish it
-
I kindly ask for instructions for the correct publication and consequently that it is possible to see it in the list available for Retropie users to download a new emulationstation retropie theme ready.
I opened a git and published preview and files needed for publication
Thank you in advance
Regards -
You can fork the RetroPie-Setup repository, create a new branch and modify the
scriptmodules/supplementary/esthemes.sh
to add a link your your theme repository (see here). You can then create a Pull Request to the RetroPie-Setup repository with your modified branch.I can also submit a PR to include it, if the above sounds too complicated.
-
how quickly .. or how often, are the RETROPIE THEME lists of new topics proposed updated?
I ask to know when to check if my new theme will be loaded ..
thanks -
@andreamav If the PR gets accepted, whenever the user will run 'Update installed packages' or if they update the
esthemes
package - they'll get the new theme in the list. -
thank you for you reply.
theme is in scriptmodules/supplementary/esthemes.sh how you seggest time ago.
I will hope to see it publish.. -

@andreamav You didn't submit RetroPie's project repository to be included, did you ? I asked you about submitting it myself, but you didn't confirm - so I did not.
I can do it now if you want. -
sorry... for my poor english...
i open with a friend o mine a pull request
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/pull/3114
I hope this is the true way.
if I didn't understand something, or I had to do something else, or you had to do something about it, I apologize, I guess I didn't / I understood.
if you need anything else, your help could really useful, thanks in advance.

I can submit the pull request, but I just tried to load the theme on a RetroPie system and it crashed. Did you test the theme on a RetroPie system or you developed it on a PC ? Maybe you forgot to upload something ?
-
I developed it in Retropie.
I tested it with ubuntu 16.04 too.
With last emulationstation version normal and custom it works.
It doesn't work with previous revision of emulationstation.
in my last beta test.. i try too download e reload theme by git and it works.
(i dont test it in windows system)I gave the theme to some friends who use retropie on raspberry 4 with 4gb of ram and use it regularly ... we all use it on arcade cabinet with crt monitor. (only I have tested the theme, as written above on hdmi monitors with ubuntu 16.04, for now)
-
this morning I tested my theme for CRT Monitor by Retropie 4.6 and it works
-
here some pictures..
any comments are welcome..
-
I'll re-test tomorrow, but just to be sure, can you zip the theme folder form your Pie and put it somewhere where I can download it (send.firefox.com for instance) ?

Sorry, but the theme still crashes for me - I'm testing on Windows right now, using the latest EmulationStation version.
Anyone else care to give it a try and see if the theme works for them on RetroPIe ?
-
thanks for your test with windows
with retropie Retropie 4.5.14 and Retropie 4.6, raspberry 3 and raspberry 4b 4gb ram, run perfectly. I used retropie distribution from official site to build img files.
Theme runs perfectly with computer with ubuntu 16.04, too. -

is there a guide or site where you can debug an emulationstation theme in depth?
the --debug option does not highlight individual problems.
often from generic information.
I also tried with already published themes.
thanks -
@mitu
I just found out that in the past few days .. in a moment of modification of the loaded theme, there were internet-line problems .. so probably there are not all the correct files .. that's why there were problems ..
how do you delete "all the folders of the git" of reloading everything from scratch?I JUST TEST IT in Raspberry Pi3 - Official 4.6 Retropie.
I copied theme, setted permission 777 to folder theme, open emulationstationhttps://send.firefox.com/download/12433025d77e2db3/#0KDu2MX3Y5Lnd4sf3NGV5w
