Not all forums are nice places to be.

I will write something here and I don't mean to offend, take sides, or make enemies, but rather I hope it provides something to think about.
I will confess I haven't read every word of every post in this thread. I don't have the strong desire. But from skimming, it seems like you may have come here with a frustration looking for support or some kind of 'rally the troops' idea. If your point was mainly that this is a nice forum where people are mostly respectful and generally kind, I think we tend to agree although I can't speak for anyone but myself.
However, there are two sides to every story and if you feel resistance coming at you rather than support, it may be because no one here has fully seen both sides of the story, only what you present or what can be searched. Right, wrong, or indifferent, if you are getting "excited" by the details of what happened when people question something or when they state what their perception is, then escalating or restating emphatically the points which you have already made may not help change positively the perception that someone has of you.
All of this to simply say, it appears that no one is changing hearts and minds here and it may be best to save our energy and move on... I don't know. At least that is what I may do.

@yfzdude I had a recent talk with them and it appears to be a misunderstanding, so I'll forgive it this time. But any sign of trouble in the future and that forum is getting ignored and signed out for me. I'm not as young as I used to be and I don't need the stress making my health worse. After the thread got restored I just found out they were telling the truth, that the OP did in fact ask for help with a pirate copy of Minecraft, so I do see where they're coming from.
while it is true that some games are nearly impossible to buy because they were discontinued, this doesn't apply to Minecraft and plus it would be unprofessional of people running sites to advocate or aid and abet law breaking and crime.

CLOSE THIS THREAD.... ENOUGH ALREADY!

@videoarcade I'm sure the moderators here would get onto that eventually.
But if this thread were to be closed, that would be good because it means we could move on and not get anymore replies day after day about an uninteresting topic.

@greengriffon I just came back after seeing your condescending little remark which was apparently hidden on my other account as I had blocked you
and I'm going to correct you by saying, no, I wasn't banned, I thought I got blocked by moderators from somebody else's thread, there's a big difference, although allegedly that wasn't the case, now the moderators are saying the thread got restored (if it was even deleted in the first place, I don't know because I don't run that website)
Learn to read the comments that are given to you before you make arrogant assumptions about people you have no clue about.
Read my post that were in direct reply to the original poster of the thread, do this look condescending to you?
"Using Free Sync or G-Sync which is compatible with Nvidia GTX 1060 video cards and supported monitors, should eliminate the problem of stuttering even if the frame rate drops to 140 below the maximum of 144hz on the OP's display. It's actually the best way to keep frame rates in sync with the monitor without causing tearing or excessive input lag.
the alternative is to cap the frame rate to something that can remain consistent. But 140fps with regular V-Sync on a 144hz monitor isn't good, because as you said it would get halved to about 72fps which is far worse than my suggestion that got removed in an earlier post. Having the fame rate be half of your monitors refresh rate negates the benefits of having your monitor set to 144hz in the first place."
If you think that does, then you're clearly not very educated on English.
It's got nothing to do with disrespecting forum rules at all, your negative experiences with other Americans misusing the term free speech doesn't give you credence to attack others you willfully misrepresent. It's astonishing what cowards people like you can be though, when you attack people anonymously behind a computer screen. When they had previously never wronged you, and you entered this thread first, so take your self righteous remarks elsewhere.

Who implied that only Americans defend free speech? it certainly wasn't me, or you.
Actually I think you may have it backwards. He wasn't saying that only Americans defend free speech. He was saying that Americans get confused what a "right" to free speech is.
I've been all over the world, and the only people I see using their "right to free speech" in a completely wrong context is Americans. And I'm an American.
The OP apparently thinks he can say whatever he likes on a discussion forum, ignore the rules, attack other people personally, argue with moderators, and not suffer any consequences.
Yet, he claims that he was banned merely for being "helpful".
This is a ludicrous thread, and a waste of everyone's time.I hope you realize that this has a stacking effect, right? The OP comes here looking for support or sympathy and gets beaten down further after already being given what seems to be a unfair treatment by the mods on this other forum. Of course he is upset when his venting about hostility is met with more hostility, and yes he can be taken seriously because misunderstandings do happen and sometimes mods make mistakes, they are people too.
I've seen more than enough instances of someone who did nothing wrong (or at best something trivial) getting accused wrongly, taking it personally, and digging themselves in deeper out of pride or a sense of integrity, because this happens often. Seeing his side of the story, not just the forum's, is important too. Emotional support isn't so hard to give and can really bounce back someone on a downward spiral or in a bad spot. It's worth a shot, and for what I think, I believe the OP has a point, it's hard to be sure without seeing the deleted thread but I doubt he would come here to lie or to troll as if he'd done something seriously wrong.
For the record, I used to be an active member of the forums in question as well. Used to, because the moderation and administration changed hands, and some people I approved of and some I did not. I am not saying for sure what OP said is correct and the mods are completely horrible all of them, but I can very well see from first hand experience that some of them could have taken an abuse of power here by 'following their discretion'.

So, the OP accused you of being xenophobic to your own people? (edit: that would actually be Oikophobia) How hilarious and sad at the same time. It reminds me of playing the original Diablo online many years ago, when one player accused another and me of being typical Americans – until we told him that we're Italian and German. He actually apologised to us after that.

CLOSE THIS THREAD.... ENOUGH ALREADY!
I'm not a friend of closing discussions like these. Although most people prefer nice, polite conversations, heated arguments are part of human interaction and some statements shouldn't be left unchallegend lest we'll distort our perception of the world to a happy filter bubble.
Of course there are limits to what should be allowed to be thrown at your fellow contemporaries, but I don't think this line was crossed in this thread (yet). And who knows if the OP would have gone back to the other forum to resolve his/her misunderstanding if he hadn't met a wall of scepticism here?

If anyone thinks they know bad forums, until you visit the Neo Geo forums - you have no idea.
I (amazingly) haven't been banned from them, though I'm sure tens of thousands of people have been.
They're good for a laugh to browse and see what's going on, but my god, that is definitely the most aggressive forum for gaming around.
