Installing service fails

Fresh install of Retropie 4.8 on a pi 3b with control block 2.1. I have tried loading the software using the easy bash method and the build method and get the same result. Everything installs until the enabling of Installservice part. I never completes just stalls. I have to break the loop to get back to command. When I try status of controlblock on system it says that its starting and never goes to started or running. Is there a log file I can find to share for this problem or anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

@erik-m Ok, I pushed a fix a minute ago. Something changed with the system execution. I updated it accordingly.
