ok having some shitty issues with the latest release....
tried to generate a game list for my neo geo stuff, says it finds them all, but shows none??
added some snes roms had the same issue, nw the damn thing won't go any further than the login screen, just goes black screenrunning on a pi b+ 2, 8gb kingston class 10 card
-
Wanted to put this here since someone else my try and run AdvMAME as well.
"advmame has SDL issues with hardware scaling on x-windows. "
So it's broken and does not work, no point messing with AdvMAME for Attract Mode" -
ok, i'm starting with a fresh img,
I WANNA START THEMEING!!!!!!
or whatever its called

Did you setup your display after generating your list? It needs to all be setup after you get your roms list built.

I don't suppose anyone has done an img with it all set up including a theme (but no roms obviously) with instructions on where to put each set of roms have they? :-)

You put your ROMS in the same place you do RetroPie, in fact it's running ontop of RetroPie.
If you watch the video Floob posted it goes through everything on how to get it all running and setup. -
ok, is anyone currently theming?
i've currently started, i'm just stuck on one thing....
adding system logos -

adding system logosSystem logos? Are you thinking about Marquee or the wheel art or flyers? There are no system themes as you see in Retropie, just layouts that display your artwork in various configs.
For MAME you can get all that right here -
yup, I know that, but what I wanna do is have one layout, then have logo's that are selectable at will, in theory it should be possible. but every way I try to add the code I loose the layout completely, I guess I'll just mess around s lil more

Not sure I follow "logo's selectable at will" , not sure what you mean by logo's. Are you trying to setup one layout screen to access all the emulators like the Arcade spot in ES?
-
never mind. I'll figure it out myself, I really can't be bothered to try in explain what I'm trying to build into this layout design

Ok no problem, I was interested in where you were going with this but if it's a bother then best of luck to you.

as you can all see i'm unto my old tricks with a very light & clean "layout"
i built this on my mac, but i've not yet tried it on the Pi, theres a few more lil bits id like to add.....@Finhead ok, maybe this will help explain a little better, where the snes logo is, i was wondering if there is code so as the user can choose what logo is displayed, is this a "marquee?" or somehow, the layout reads say maybe the rom folder in use as assigns the correct logo-marquee to the right system,
here i am using a wallpaper with the snes logoedit....
ok this will not work at this moment, as each layout will need the boxart re-set to scale correctly,
this needs to be looked into more... -
moved clock up to the lil space above attract mode logo
added List Size info to the bottom where the clock was,
thinking of adding play count just under the box art -
@InsecureSpike Coming along nicely!
-
very nice! i love clean minimalist layouts, would look lovely on my largescreen 4k sony KD ;P
but all my rpis mostly mostly putter around with tft screens ranging from 2.2" to a 7", and this won't work :(
any chance for a matching (in look and feel) smallscreen version as well?
ps; would be better have this in a AM Layouts thread y'think?
-
mmmm, ok, are you running AttractMode at the moment, on any of your pi's?
what layouts have you been using so far?? I'll gladly try n figure something outbtw, thank you
