As a collector, it's great to know about new games, but sometimes you don't know what games are common or rare among a complete list. I'm wondering what people think about the idea of adding a field in gamelist.xml for the value or rarity of a game (out of 5 stars, for example). I'm not sure if this information is already present in the database, and the value does fluctuate a lot each year, but maybe there's a way to automate this with pricecharting.com or something?

Just a silly idea, I'm interested to hear thoughts about this :)

I agree with you, this is a interesting way to know how many players have a specific game and good way to discover hidden gems.

@felleg Ha! Yeah, that would be a cool feature. Does anybody have any databases on that type of information though? I know Atari-Age rates the rarity of 2600, 5200, 7800 and Lynx games and I don't think that information changes at all, but they don't keep records of any prices as far as I know.

I think if this feature was added you'd have to have the ability to shut it off, or maybe people would just have to make altered versions of skins that would show it. I don't think that everybody would want that information showing up by default, but I do think it's a cool idea.
