Any Doom Mods Recommendations???

@exarkuniv for me alien tc runs absolutly horrible on the pi 3 :( to bad my game pc is dead it fried while ago So pi is pretty much all got for doom modding..

@jcook84 what does the smooth animation do? I dont really get what it does it just smoothens the animation? That is it?
Is it it a big difference

I also found another cool mod Pro Doomer 3 it soposed to have a tonssss of levels as well but it runs really horrible om thinking it might need gzdoom for it to run smooth..
Same with Aliens Colonial Marines (doom mod )
Also lags rly bad especially the first level where Its snowing outside lol it just stutters like a bitch

Trying to use one that uses less resources i want to tweak and get it running as smooth as possible also changing the audio channels from 32 down to 8 helps with performance a little bit

EDIT what version of Aliens TC do you have. mine does not have any of the files that you listed

EDIT.....Well i got most of it to lunch, but the maps still look the same as doom 1. guess i still have some work to do

@exarkuniv can you list what aliens tc files you have? List them with all the caps and lowercase exactly how they display.

it kinda works. i get the sprites to come, but all the level are still vanilla. i think it has some think to do with the order they need to be in to lunch, or this version will not work

@edmaul69 hey ed I tried the zion v8 HD one u told me was nice well it doesn't run very well like when changing weapons it does this animation right? That's laggy for me also when firing certain weapons it gets pretty laggy other then that it's fine but the lag bothers me do you have this ?

@exarkunivibstill need to look over this but i will say i used the psxmusic file as well. I thought it was something i added but no it is one of the files you use. I need to try to get the files you are using so i can understand. Can you post a screenshot of it running?

i picked inferno due to it being the brightest map to show that it does somewhat work. but none of the maps are coming up. and inferno should say bonus

Also when I tried aliens ultimate I couldn't get it to load right do I need psx files or something?

For anyone looking for a awesome mod try Complex Doom with the Legendary LCA Addon is rly fun out of all the mods i tried this one is my fav
Much Much Much better than brutal doom or any other mod in my opinion

I heard u can play doom online on Servers is that possible on pi???

i would not say it is running. its more like 50/50.
it depends on what one you are trying to use. their are different ones out there.
this version is ALIENS_TC_2017_v_1.2.

i have tried the Aliens: Colonial Marines (TC) but that one will not run, which is the one i think you tried

i have found this on moddb ALIENS_The_Ultimate_Doom_Beta_9.2
it is a pk3 file so it easily starts up. it is very dark though due to the limits of zdoom.

but is works so im not going to complain, well until edmaul gets the other version to work

@exarkuniv yeah i think it was Colonial it runs but it runs super slow like 5 fps because of the snow particals in first map..

What the correct load order is if you use multiple wad/pk3 files???
Its because i want to play Complex Doom,with LCA Addon mod,on a megawad level ..i have it running is just the LCA Addon spawns Legendary monsters of you kill them legendary weapons will drop well as soon as the weapon stops right after killing itll hang second prob because Its spawning the weapon but maybe because Its out of load order?
Because i watched couple YouTube vids for them it doesnt hang when the weapon drops so it might be the order idk but i do recommand it Its my fav so far

yea i dont know. i think that is the same problem that im having with ALIENS_TC_2017_v_1.2. i cant get the load order right.

@exarkuniv hmm shouldnt the load order be first the maps then the mod then the Addon for the mods?? Im not sure..
I also want to know if anyone ese know how to do orders?

@retrofreak89 this is usually the case. Some require the mods before the maps. But that is rare.

Has this ever happen to you ?
