is the time, you know my friend, i take some of my free time to check the forum and do this things

@chelochelini2014 Awesome work again bud. Once I put this in the set I'll give you a count of how many times these you've done so far are used. Needed quite a few for the Unlicensed games, so the count for all 4 so far should be well over 100. :)
Thanks again!
EDIT: Just did a count of all of the games upgraded with your new boxes and my total so far is 106 :)

@chelochelini2014 Awesome work man. Amazing as always. Thank you so much. :)
I just went through everything and all generic NES covers are now accounted for. If you had a chance, I hope you might find the time to create the FDS ones. These are the ones we have now:
Adult Games:
Famimaga Series Games:
BTW... I forgot to add this one, but I just went ahead and upgraded it myself since it was a simple thing I could handle :)
VS Arcade Games:
-
just give me a few days because i need to do another template on illustrator to do the new covers.
-
@chelochelini2014 No problem man. Whenever you have the time. :)
I'm going to be away for a while again, so I'll message you back if you get to them before I'm here. I'm still going to be adding some more games to the collection and most of them are going to use those covers you made. I'm figuring that about 150 of them will have your boxes when I'm done.
Hey bud. I think sometime next week I'd like to start integrating your awesome boxart into the set as well. I've been putting that off since it's going to be a big project and I've had so many other things I've been working on, plus it seemed like you were still in the middle of making a lot of the images.
I had two questions for you.
-
Could you give me a package of the NES/Famicom boxes you did in a zipfile so I don't have to individually scroll down and save them all here?
-
Are you doing any requests? On my spreadsheet I have all of the large good quality images in black. The ones that are medium sized show the dimensions in 'ORANGE/BOLD` and the ones that are either really small and/or have some watermarks or pricetags or other defects are in RED/BOLD.
There's only a few that are red... probably less than 10 of the 2,000 games. I was hoping that maybe you might be able to make some awesome images for those. It will pretty much be perfect for boxarts at that point, since the ORANGE/BOLD images are good and are really just noted as being smaller than I'd like them to be for the future of emulaton and larger TV screens.
Thanks again guys. Have a good weekend if I don't see you by then.

I'm still a LONG way away from even being close to a full NES release. Tons of things to do first, including making about 500 videos for new translations, hacks, pirates and others that weren't in teh Rx1.0 set (and possibly just re-doing all of them in HD with a uniform volume and a standard length in an "attract mode" arcade style format.
Hope I don't come off as rushing anybody on any of this. I just get excited about ideas all over the place and throw things out there while I'm thinking about them. There's no way this work will be done before the year is over on my end. I'm hoping for a full NES release some time by next summer. :)

I do the same lol ... so bad we are making the same work :(
We lost many time for nothing ...
We really must work together, a best of pack is compatible with a full pack project !
It's like if we made the top list of your full list, but we use same covers, videos, etc ...
And we can have a full size covers directory, and a resize one smaller for 1080p max resolution.
We have all our stuff in full size before i downscale it, and we don't use it ;)My last finished system : https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/13440/my-created-daphne-covers-for-not-use-flyers/17

Yes. It is a shame we have both doubled up on so much work man. I'm glad I learned how to do a lot of the things I did in Paint.NET, and a lot of the things I did will still be usable because they were not games you're going to add and/or they were a lot of cart/disk images that I don't think you guys are concerned with using in your sets. But I've seen at least 30 boxes here that you've done for Japan games that are way better than what I can do with my limited skills. It pains me to remove the stuff that I worked on, but if we both did a box art I'm going to be using yours because you're so obviously more talented than me at the artwork stuff.
About videos... Have you done any yet? I'm hoping that you haven't. I would like to talk with you about doing them all in the same manner before we start. I'm open to suggestions if you have any better ideas, but I want a few main things when creating them.
- Uniform sound/music volume levels on every game.
- Equal length for every video. (I was thinking somewhere between 20-30 seconds would be the sweet spot.
- An arcade-style "Attract Mode" to the videos. Basically a 15-20 second clip of action from the game followed by a 5-10 second title sequence.
For the attract mode, it would always be action and not the boring text talking you see in a lot of RPG game videos today. Also, I would want it to look like whoever was playing the game actually cared about playing it. Too many videos I've seen have the people mindlessly dying in them because they really don't care when making the videos. Finally, we'd have to decide if we wanted some sort of fade between the action and title sequences to the videos.
Whatever we choose, I would want that to be the exact format for every single video we made.
I originally thought I'd have to do all of them myself to keep consistancy, but if you and gilles and waal are down to collaborate on it we could work out a few kinks at the beginning and make sure that we're all on the same page before we start making them. It would sure save me tons of time if you were eager to do it at least for the "best of" collection that would be about 1/4 of the games in my collection.
Let me know what you think about it :)
-
@used2berx Yes i have already made some videos :)
I have made them for the 8 systems we have finish.
SNES, NES, GENESIS, MASTER SYSTEM, NEC CD, NEC Supergrafx, 3DO, DAPHNE.I take all the EMUMOVIES video they already made, and complete with our games they don't have.
Like them i made 640x480 video.
I capture the game video in real size and full screen without black bar, and scale it to 640x480 and compress it in MP4.
If i don't know the game, i play a little before recording video, to not die and have some skill ;)
All videos have same sound too.I think we are agree for all, except one thing !
I don't make the fade at the end with title 5sec.
All my videos are 32 sec, the PI player made a little 1 sec fade at start and end.
Adding the tital will really take me so many time, and we think it is not important to see if a game is cool to play or not. -
@darknior That's cool. I'll have to check them out at some time.
I still want to make them with the title fade, but perhaps whenever I get around to making my videos I could get instructions exactly how you made yours and then just add the titles to mine if I want to take the time to re-make everything.
I'm not a fan of emumovies. It's no offense to them. I'm not a fan of our own videos from Rx1.0 either. There were just way too many hands on the project and no consistent format was used. I actually had to turn the volume off on the videos and just listen to the background mp3 over all of them because about 5% of the videos were so loud that they'd make you jump out of your seat when scrolling through games.
I think it would be best if one person did all of them, or if a team were to create them that everybody is doing them the exact same way. It's good to know that at least the videos you've done were all done at the same volume level. That's a great starting point for what I want to do and would probably save me loads of time when I'm ready to start doing the videos myself. Maybe I could get my hands on your NES videos sometime soon and start playing around with them?
I'd also like to get that set of NES covers you've worked on and figure out which ones I'm going to use to replace what I already have.
I think it's best if we discuss doing that over on the other site though. :)

@darknior Hey bud...
I was wondering if you might be able to work your magic on this boxart?
I know most of the pirate fighters are pretty much garbage on the NES, but this one is pretty cool. I love the box, but this is the biggest and best one I was able to find online and it looks like poop. :)
-
@used2berx What's the name of this HACK ?
Where i can found it ?
I must have it to make some search et informations. -
It's World Heroes 2 Pro.
-
@livefastcyyoung Thanks
I will try to do something ... but it is write crappy game on the Youtube video lol -
@darknior Yes. Thanks @LiveFastCyYoung for posting that link. :)
It's not any more or less crappy than any of the other VS fighters on the NES. There are only one or two that are outstanding in any way. This one pretty much has one of the basic fighting engines the pirates used so the gameplay isn't that great, but the intro menus are pretty sweet for it and I really like that boxart. Just can't find any good image of it online.
No worries if you can't get to it. I just wanted the box to look better and fixing that one is beyond my capabilities.
-
@darknior You might want to think about adding this Rockman IV hack man.
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/910/
I think of all the hacks in my collection, this one stands out from all the rest of the Mega Man series hacks.
Any of the Boss Rush hacks are good too.
(Speaking of which, you might want to check out the Zelda II Boss Rush hack. That one is GREAT).
-
@used2berx Yes thanks i have add it some weeks ago with some others, i must come back to NES to finish my covers :p
I take time on ScummVM, OpenBOR and other projets ...
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
