PSPi 1.0 - PSP Raspberry Pi Zero Retropie Mod

Thanks! Looking forward to PSPi 2.0 progress details. Seriously love the pics of your "jumbled mess", looks like my stuff. I usually can't figure out what I had done when I try to sort things out 2 months down the line. If only we could have hardware autorouting like for pcbs.

@adamspc - Great build!!!
What exact 4.3" composite LCD screen did you use?
At what resolutions is it running?
Is the thumb stick functional?
-
@Tekkaman_Slade
That's a hard question to answer. The one I'm using right now is from a car backup camera, but I've got half a dozen different types I'm testing out. Some don't work at 5v, some use too much power, some are just junk. I really wanted to use HDMI but there weren't any drivers that were small enough. Im testing a new one on the 2.0, so I'll give more info on the LCD when I post the progress.The joystick does not work on the 1.0, but I've got the parts coming from China to get it working on 2.0. Its going to use an analog to digital converter.

I'm about to create a new topic and start posting some pics from the 2.0 build. I plan to just keep editing my post to add pics and details as I make progress...is this the best way to do it? Would you guys prefer that I do it that way, or should I just post a link to the uploaded pics on Google Drive?

Stunning!

@adamspc
I'm looking forward to more details. I've always wanted to do a portable RetroPie build using a PSP, but finding the right screen was the biggest challenge. I don't think HDMI screens less than 5" exist. -
WOW!!!
Mate, that is a stunning piece of work!!
Very (very) impressed, props man, props :))

Maybe for version 2.0, you can try to convert a Raspberry Pi 3 so you can play PSP games (via PPSSPP) as well as playing other games too! Also, you can have built-in Wifi and Bluetooth in version 2.0.

@RetroPieNerd
I'm willing to try. Don't have a Pi 3 to see if it will fit. Someone is welcome to donate one if they want me to try.On that note though... I've played a couple PS1 games and the performance is surprisingly good.

I posted another YouTube video of the console in action and showing the USB and MicroSD ports.

If you built it all again would there be anything you would change?
-
@TheDutyPaid
Yep. I've found a better quality/lower power LCD and driver. I'm also adding more features to the new one I'm building. The joystick will be the biggest addition. Also, a new power circuit that allows a forced power down if the OS freezes for some reason. Working on a better audio filter too. Everything is being made from scratch. -
Another video is up
