@meleu Is there a way to activate leaderboard participation on RetroPie?
just a heads up: yes, currently there's a way to activate leaderboards on RetroArch. Details on the wiki page:

Hello fellows,
I spent most of my free time in the past couple of months working on the RetroAchievements Documentation Project:
https://retroachievements.github.io/It's a good resource for those who want to learn to create achievements (although it has some info for regular users too).
I hope you enjoy!

Seems like a lot of achievements are either unobtainable, or have glitched counters though.
-
@billyh glitched counters. It's known issue.
-
@meleu so on your own personal page, everything shows up correctly?

Has the "hascheevos" tool broken? I've not loaded up my retro box in a month or so (got an Xbox One X and been playing with that). I decided to load it up tonight and found that the cheevo system does still work, and my custom list is still there. But since I've not updated in a while, I decided to re-run the hascheevos tool to generate a new list. I started by using the "update" flag, then let it run it's thing. It's about half way through scanning my MegaDrive collection, and every single game is coming up "Has no cheevos".
-
Same problem here, seems to now be broken.
-
Yup, It's not just the Mega Drive console either. I noticed it on Master System and GameBoy last night too. I posted it up as an issue on the github page. Mentioned to Meleu on Discord, so he'll have a looksee when he can. Thanks though for confirming. He said somebody else mentioned it, but he didn't think twice about it until I spoke up. Now with another, more experienced user also commenting on it, he'll feel more certain the confirmation is there. :)

I gave it another shot and it seems like the issue is that RetroAchievements is not returning what we want for the gamelist for some systems. Some others scraped fine (NES, SNES, Mastersystem) when I did them a few minutes ago, but others did not (Genesis/Megadrive).
-
@zerojay @hansolo77 yeah, there's something wrong with the RA server. It's not returning the megadrive's hash library (and maybe other systems, as mentioned by han). I'll check it next week.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
-
@zerojay @hansolo77 I confirmed the problem with the megadrive hash library was on the server's end and it was already fixed. Could you guys please try again and report back if you still have problems?

Looks fixed to me now, thanks.

Awesome! I'll give it a shot.

Hey guys, would you like to see the achievement badge popping on the (bottom of the) screen when you earn an achievement?
There's a feature request about it on the RetroArch's issue tracker, and it also have a bounty for the developer who implement this feature.
I'm posting about it here because there's a developer trying to do it, then if you guys would like to encourage them you can increase the bounty. It's kind of a way to cheer and say "yeah! go ahead dude!" or maybe a more concrete "thanks in advance" :P
You can increase the bounty here at bountysource.com.
(I hope it's not considered spam 🙏)

@meleu sounds amazing, I'm excited to see the result :)
-
@meleu I actually donated $10 to this last night. Hope it happens!

Just wanted to thank @meleu for this guide and thanks for keeping me up all freaking night getting silly achievements on my pi. Initially, I had no intention of doing the cheevos but then while playing retroarch my Vita last night I thought, why not. And now I logged into my pi with my account and I can’t stop. Thanks.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
