@zerojay No problem, i wasn't expecting something soon, with the holidays coming and such.

I've been gradually testing this package and the unstables, and wanted to give a few observations (and confirmations of some already given above, too):

        • Openbor works with even more titles than listed, you just have to unpack the games manually.

        • Bermudasyndrome does not have an exit option - no key works. It has no access to the in-game menu that the original had, either (load/save/quit etc.). I can't hear the music, although all the sounds are in.

        • Openxcom deletes everything from opt/retropie/ports/openxcom after updating from source (so it deletes all the game resources). Additionally, perhaps the nightly build could be used for the port? It seems to have a lot of fixes, and supports the sequel, Terror from the Deep (https://openxcom.org/2015/08/terror-from-the-deep-now-available-in-the-nightlies/)

        • When starting, the retropie config reports an error in moonlight.sh, line 20 (without installing Moonlight)

        • Freesynd installed but didn't run :\

        • Rockbot and Openfodder didn't install

@zerojay I finally managed to get The Clue! fully running on my RetroPie. If you're interested, I made a Repo with basic install instructions here.
Since it seems that RetroPie uses a special SDL port, it was easy to build a smooth running fullscreen version directly on RetroPie.
The only issues I encountered was that the game crashed while saving (I'm running the game with sudo now, maybe you know a better way), and the game crashed while saving plans (I simply added empty dummy *.pln files that the game can write to).

It would be still nice to get a regular script for it, since the game files are open source anyways. Also it would be great if the dummy files can be generated by the script itself so that in the end I can remove my Repo.

The benefit of the Port is, that compared to running it using DOSBOX, it is less buggy. Especially the bug which stops you from moving through certain doors in the DOS version is gone.

Take a look at Open Fodder again, its been through a large number of changes in the last 6months (and just pushed a change to the retro repository to fix it yesterday)

Still seems really unstable to me, unfortunately. :/

Just added Hydra Castle Labyrinth (hcl) to RetroPie-Extra, a fun Metroidvania style platformer game. Would love it if someone could test it on Pi 3 right now. (Already functional on ODroid XU4.)

@zerojay Some sprites are flickering. Here's a shitty video: https://streamable.com/2m02c

Maybe it's because I have a shitty power adaptor?
I have a Raspberry Pi 3 with RetroPie 4.3.7 and RetroPie Extra up to date.

@hiulit Hmm. Maybe on a Pi 3, the game will need to run at a lower resolution. The game is set to use whatever the desktop is set to, so maybe use runcommand to change the resolution to 720p or lower and see what happens.

@zerojay My best resolution was 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock: 27MHz progressive and I think the same for 16:9. There was still some slight flickering though, specially on the HUD and at the bottom of the screen. But the sprites were fine and the game was totally playable.

I'll add a note for pi3 users then.

@zerojay Maybe the note should be something generic, like: "If you get flickering sprites, try changing the video mode in runcommand". I'm saying that because I don't know if my resolution would work for everyone.

                                  That's the idea.

This no longer seems to work. None of the additional scripts are showing up on the retropie menu. Is this due to some sort of upstream change?

I'm back to RetroPie and am slowly starting to check which games and ports are no longer functional to try to fix them under Buster.

I've also added an installation script for the latest version of OpenBOR that installs the latest official version as an emulator instead of a port, allowing you to launch games directly from emulationstation.
