    5. And finally....the famous 'md_marquee gamelist carousel' in video view (same as System vertical carousel).

I'm trying to sleep and was thinking of that and wondered if someone is still trying to add this. And what's even more important to me if it would work along with the normal gamelist.
When horizontal_wheel was added as option to the carousel, I made some example themes that used the carousel as some sort of animated element. Like the Metroid theme with the rotating Metroids or the Space Invaders theme.
Now I thought how awesome it would be to have the same feature on detailed view. Having some random images in the carousel while having the normal gamelist.

Grid view for system list. Or did I miss something and this is already possible?

@youxia wow wow wow chill down mate :)

The grid have been developped specificly for the game list view.

I could make it more modular so it could be used in the system view, and give the choice for theme to use it instead of the carousel, but that would be a huge task with many hours of development and careful testing.

If more people are interested then I will consider it, but for now you are the first one and I have many other features already planned for the grid view, so I just added it to my "maybe-todo-list"

@A12C4 Well, I wasn't demanding anything of you - it's just a vague wish, replying to the OP in general :) I'd really love a grid for system's list though, something a la Wii.

@youxia I guess he was responding to my post.
Although I'm also not asking have grid view available in system view, I want the carousel in detailed view. Since I've not tested grid view myself yet, I still believe that the the carousel already has some unique features that could look awesome if it was available as extra element in detailed view.
To answer your initial question, grid view is kinda available. It's still in development but it can be manually activated for testing purposes.

@a12c4 since I want to use it as graphical element (not just for navigation), I like it that we can create curved carousels. And I like how fluid the scrolling animation is. But like I said, I've not seen grid view in action yet, so maybe it's the same.

@ectoone There is no scrolling animation at the moment, it's on the todo list.

Do you know any theme actually using the carousel wheel ?

@a12c4 I'm not sure if there is one available to download, i have at least one that had a wheel on the side but it might have been a mockup. The only other ones I can think of are the ones i showed here (scroll down to see the Metroid version) but since horizontal_wheel wasn't available at that time i stopped working on it.
I also don't know if enough people even know that we have the option to do curved carousels to implement it.
I got an crazy idea for a graphical wheel that would probably look awesome if it would appear on system and detailed view. Maybe i can find some time to create it at least for system view at do a mockup of detailed view. Although there is one thing i want to do, which i'm actually not sure that it would work. And i also might have some issues with my poor graphic editing skills. :D

                    Edit: Removed

Space Oddity is one I know of off hand that is available through retropie-setup. I think there may be a couple of others.

Videos that can be placed into a folder and used as a screensaver. I don't have scraped videos for my games but would love to use mp4 videos without sound as a screensaver for my system. Just a wish for the list, and I appreciate all the work that has gone into Retropie!

@ckidwell If you don't have videos for your games, you could place your screensaver videos in the images folder and name them like they belong to existing roms (romname-video.mp4). Then they will be used for the screensaver.

Adding Stroke/Outline to Textlist is a huge please from me. I'm creating a theme with a textlist (colour white) that overlaps an image, if there is white is the image then the textlist becomes unviewable.

In general I think a stroke/outline on md_ objects would come in handy for a lot of themers, give it more of a ummf when displaying any data on screen. Little bit of spice :)

It would be great a graphic load/save state indicator with pics. When you press select + left or right on Retroarch, you could get a small box on the bottom with the actual slot and the preview of the saved states and the empty ones.

Over the years i only used two themes: Carbon NoMeta and yours. Thank you for that 👍
