Thanks dudes, once I figured out I could design my own machine, the thought of any other machine had vanished. I always wanted a dedicated Mortal Kombat 2 cabinet, they're just so damn huge and impractical in most homes. This is just what the doctor ordered.

I agree personally. It's a nice choice for a dedicated machine. However, my brother has one and after the first year it saw very little play. I have a full size MAME cab myself, but I'm in the process of selling it and will probably put together a pub-top down the road. Right now, I'm enjoying my RetroPie setup as more of a console experience, but as I'm sure you know, the arcade is always calling.

@PingSpike they are just regular t-molding in chrome (fake). Its just finished plastic but looks very good. Go on Ebay and search chrome t-molding.

@GreenHawk84 Fantastic. Illuminated buttons looking good! Do you find the need to start another though? I do for some strange reason.

@rbaker haha yes, there are many designs that would appeal to me; Ninja Turtles, Robocop, all sorts of themes.

Well thats true. Unless he gets so pissed off playing it that he takes it out back to "Finish Him!!" going all "office space" on it.

                        Awesome dude.

Can you describe how you setup the front buttons and what they actually do? Exit, Mode, Menu, Play...

Yes I have my directions in a thread already:

                          https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2127/xin-mo-instructions/12

I followed a guide from somewhere else, I would have never figured this all out. But lucky for me, it only took a few moments in one evening and I got it right the first time. The Admins here didnt seem to have issue with this setup and everything runs good.

Here is how the bottom panel works: Play and Exit are navigation buttons for EmulationStation. I press Play to get into a menu item, say Super Nintendo, and then I select a game with Play. If I want to back out of a menu I press Exit. Mode brings up the game's metadata and Menu brings up options for EmulationStation like shutdown, restart, etc. Pressing Exit and Mode at the same time allow me to exit from a game. Pressing Mode and X allow me to launch RetroArch in a game. That's all I have used it for so far.

@GreenHawk84 awesome build. Is there a more detailed build-page on this? I'd like to see the plans and monitor specs, etc. Also just to confirm, this can't play KI right??

@chigundo , I do not have a BOM for this but I'm sure I could slap one together. I was also going to do a video overview of what I love, would do different, and anything that bugs me about it.

This can only do Killer Instinct on SNES. It is whatever Retropie and RPi3 allows for. It would be nice when the full arcade versions of KI are supported. The name of this arcade was not only obviously inspired by Killer Instinct, but the Ultra Arcade in Texas.
