Looking to take my daughter old LeadPad Explorer and turn it into a handheld game system.

Its currently strictly proof of concept as I am in search of the proper bits to open the leappad to get the internals cleaned

It will run a PiZero with the buttons wired directly via GPIO... It will be powered by AC/DC only (research has shown a major issue with Space and proper batteries) it will not be wireless and will only be able to handle a single controller. It will use a plug designed specifically for this for LAN connection.

It will have several systems disabled and will only run the following

      Sega Gamegear
      Gameboy (including advanced possibly)
      NES
      Atari
      Maybe Sega Master and SNES

All other menus will be inaccessable including the retropie menu

      RPi B & RPi 3B OC (Now Raspberry pi 4b 8gb)
      Retropie (Latest Stable)
PiBox with Wind Tunnel Cooling System

@Drakaen391 the pi zero can run the sega genesis as well. If you go into retropi-setup and install the emulationstation kid you can limit the emulationstation menu as well by putting it into kiosk mode. To bring it back to regular menu you just use the konami code while in emulationstation. (Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start)

@edmaul69 indeed! but actually, there is no "start" in that sequence. When researching the Konami code I found that the start button was added to some games, but not all, so I opted to leave it out.

If tetris has thought me anything, it's that errors pile up and that accomplishments dissappear.
