Hello is it possible to add kodi in the es_systems.cfg once its installed to be shown on the emulationstation menu? to add this enchantment to the Retropie-Setup script.since its installed to be on the menu as a normal system.

You can certainly do so - you can add your own system just for Kodi as described in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Add-a-New-System-in-EmulationStation/. I think that if you replicate the ports system you could get this functionality.
Unfortunately, due to the way ES works, you'll still have to go into the system to start Kodi.

i have done that by adding the kodi is es_systems, what im saying is to incorporate this feature with retropie so it adds the shortcut once its installed automatic
in other words to release an update of the retropie setup script with that feature
i ask in github and joolswills told me to open a topic here, i dont understand why since he can do it in one second, anyway.

Probably because it wouldn't benefit a lot of users. The topic here is to see if it's any interest from other users for this, and not to change something just for one user.
IMHO, adding a new system just for 1 app (even if it's Kodi) is not worth it.

@mitu I think such a change would make sense if ES checks how many files a listed in this system. If it's only one then it would make sense for a kind of "autostart" by entering the system. If there a more then 1 files listend then open system.... maybe worth to consider such a way of working ;) I think it's possible to do with just a few code lines. As there is a counter of how many "games" are per system available it's possible....

I think of a system as a category of games, when entering one I want to find/look at games, not automatically launch one. If I scroll right/left in the list of systems, I could be 'launching' the system by mistake when all I want is to go left/right to the previous/next system. Besides - how many systems with 1 game do you have ?

@mitu Oh ... I disabled the left/right navigation. Nice catch!
To be true, it's just one system PSP ... just for testing how badly slow it is ;)

Kodi is a must to have it as its own system in the menu, everyone is using it,its not just one app you can do almost everything with it even put an es front-end,i think it should exist in the menu.also Raspbian Desktop should be there a long time ago.

There can be an option in the retropie-setup script to install the shortcut in the ES menu for users that want it,i think thats more clear.

Yes it's a good idea, i use it too ... and i have many many systems to scroll to find Ports to find Kodi.
If Kodi can be add to the ES START menu it can be the best way i think.

Life is game, just play it !
