Attract-Mode in Retropie
-
I do not understand why, after installing Attract-Mode on their usual sites, the Retropie scripts change it and later create symbolic links to recreate their original location.
It seems to me a double work, unnecessary and, without intention to offend, totally absurd.
It seems that they want Attract-Mode to work as Emulationstation, when they are two totally different applications. I would appreciate just the opposite.
Let Emulationstation carry its own configuration and Attract-Mode yours. Everything else is trying to complicate life.
And for when a version of Retropie only with Attract-Mode and with its original and correct configuration?
Some users do not like Emulationstation and you base everything on it ...
If we want Retropie to reach as many users as possible, we should diversify the offer, do not you think?
I hope I have not offended anyone with my opinions, but I personally think that Attract-Mode as frontend is more alive, is more modern, more versatile and much easier to configure than Emulationstation.

That's the default for -almost - every module installed through the RetroPie setup script (Emulators, Ports, etc.), there's no exception here for AM.

What does 'everything' means ? Emulationstation is only a front-end in RetroPie, it doesn't do anything else.

It surely is more versatile, however that comes with a price of performance and added complexity. If you like Attract mode, you're free to use it, RetroPie is not tied up to Emulationstation - as you seem to think.

Okay, I'll see if uninstalling Emulationstation everything works properly for me or there are things that start to fail ...
