    Hello,
It seems that official drivers for Raspberry Pi Foundation's 7" Touchscreen Display have been included in Linux Kernel 4.21 (more info at https://www.techrepublic.com/google-amp/article/raspberry-pi-gets-official-touchscreen-support-via-linux-4-21/), this should allow RetroPie OS to support 7" Touchscreen. I hope to see this implemented soon, thanks!
    Best regards,
    Ben.

Since RetroPie's PI image is based on Raspbian Linux and the screen already works with Raspbian, I don't see why this wouldn't be supported right now.

Whilst I'm sure some will use the touchscreen functions on Retropie, for me personally it would never get used. I always hook up a joypad when using the 7" screen. It also incredibly small so I'm not sure how functional it would be in Retropie.

@goobatroopa I want it mainly for swiping menus and getting around the emulation station.

The driver is already in RetroPie - see the demo below

              Btw, 4.21 will actually be 5.0 :).

@moliata I see what you mean. This might actually work well so I will apologise for my earlier comment.

@mitu I thought it lacks touch functionality? https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/16379/retropie-4-3-on-raspi-3-with-official-7-touchscreen/3

@moliata I think that post refers to the games/ES not having touch support, not to the PI/OS itself.

@mitu Yeah, it seems to. I'll try to switch over to Pegasus, that may offer touch functionality.
