Well, the conversation branched off about as organically as these things can. Speaking of which, isn't it strange that Grape-Nuts cereal has never contained grapes or nuts? Shouldn't someone have been fired over that by now, or is General Foods just asleep at the wheel?

@thelostsoul No not lost! Only hidden ...
We talked about a facebook group, switched to mobile phones and to social media and took a small approach to retro phones. And thats the point I hook up ;)
In the European and North American world we are talking about Social Media, Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat..... and we believe that this are the world greatest social media platforms.Take a look out of your filter bubble ;)
We have India, China, Russia, South America - these regions (or countries) use other platforms seperated by it's own bubble ;)So I told a bit about the german phone market (strongly regulated!) till the 80's so most people forget this uncommon practise.

@thelostsoul The forum search should be able to find it here if necessary, but it will be lost to others who only see the title among the unread threads, so I understand your concern.
@cyperghost Most people forgot or did never know. It is the kind of topic that tells about your age and/or makes you feel old. 😉

ironically, one of the moderators of this facebook "official page" just sent a pull request to RetroPie to include a theme :)
-
@hhromic I wonder if the next PR will be to include some ROMS ?
-
Most of this guys, the admins of that group, are the guys who make the "RetroPie builds" full of roms available at Arcade Punks site.
-
@mitu im a part of a retropie group that does not claim to be official. It does not allow roms, images or pm’s to obtain them. Half the posts are just other retro stuff. Most of the retropie posts are helping people troubleshoot. They dont tolerate bs either. The admin booted 26 people the other day just from 1 thread. You can sell pi setups there but you arent allowed to have any software at all on it when you sell it. I wish more Facebook retropie/ raspberry pi pages were run this way.
-
@edmaul69 My comment was only half sarcastic - I'm sure there are knowledgeable people in that FB group (and others, as you noted). These forums are not the only support avenue for RetroPie and I think that's a good thing, more-so when they are trying to keep the RetroPie project not associated with ROM piracy and the 'easy-retro-fix-of-the-day'.

Why that is strange, lol.
Here's another one. How are you supposed to know when Stilton Blue Cheese has gone off ?BTW, wouldn't the best way to counter that group, rather than waste a report that will go into the bin, create another proper official group, linking to this forum ?

Or any of the many sites about it on the web. 🤓
Fun fact: It may give you vivid dreams. 😴

And while we're at it …

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grape-Nuts#Etymology
Despite the name, the cereal contains neither grapes nor nuts; it is made with wheat and barley. Post believed that glucose (which he called "grape sugar") formed in the baking process. This, combined with the nutty flavor of the cereal, is said to have inspired its name. Another explanation originates from employees at Post, who claim that the cereal got its name due to a resemblance to grape seeds, or grape "nuts".
I don't want to be a spoilsport, I just think learning new things is fun. 😊

Cheers, Clyde. I never knew there was a whole webpage dedicated to the topic.
I love Stilton, but didn't know that you shouldn't wrap it up in plastic while in the fridge. Well, now I do, lol. -

Another possible origin involves its creator randomly combining the names of two items he saw from around the room.
