@EctoOne
Sorry! I must missed this. How will this affect the theme? it will be a users choice like the indicator feature?
I read the code but im not sure I understand all.Yes, user can edit the theme.xml manually to enable those options. I believe my current version has the options on the top of the file and the code to include the extra files at the bottom. Settings something different will basically just overwrite the default code. That would be the easiest method. Otherwise I could keep the original theme.xml but move it to the assets folder and create a new theme.xml which will only contain the settings code and the include functions.

@chicuelo testing some new stuff on adjusted gamelist
-
@chicuelo Great job on the update!
-
@EctoOne I think creating a new xml would be great, so the ones who want that settings don't have to mess around with coding and all they have to do is renaming the xml
-
@rand0m Looking nice! I wish Retropie have the arrow feature!
-
Msx and Msx2 added
-
Nice!
Will you be adding logos and the XML for the new systems now all the characters are complete? Thanks
-
@movisman I added "Wiiu" and "msx2" logos and xml, both of them where missing. Al the others are available.
Not sure if the systems name are correct or they are most like "wii-u" or "msx-2" -
@movisman I also replaced the sega cd sonic for another game, streets of rage

It was me who put the XML together about 10 months for loads of the systems, haha! Thanks! I will see if I can work out the correct names for the folders.

Great image - love this! Will update my local copy this evening. Fantastic work as always.

@movisman What do you think for sega 32x, instead of chaotic using doom guy?
It will be similar to ports but I think its more representative of the 32x console -
Hey, love all the images you create.
I am not too convinced about replacing Knuckles on the Sega 32x image with Doom Guy, mainly because I don't believe the port of Doom on the Sega 32x was actually that good compared to some of the other ports? From what I read there was a lot missing / left out. I wouldn't associate Doom with the 32x if I was to think of the game.
I kind of like having Knuckles as the Sega 32x image. Mainly because Knuckles is a variation / add-on of the Sonic game, much like the Sega 32x is to the Genesis/Megadrive! If that makes sense :)
Also because as you mention, it will also be similar to ports.
It's up to you of course, as it's your theme - but in my opinion i'd probably keep Knuckles for Sega 32x?
-
@movisman You are right, the 32x was a transition console and had a few games, I think it will be better with chaotix.
Now, I have to decide between the doom guy or the cacodemon as the ports character. What would you choose?
The doom guy is the main character of the game, but as this game is a first person one, the cacodemon is more recognizable. I like both... -
Tough choice that, I like both too and they would both suit the generic "ports" image.
I think I'm probably edging towards the Cacodemon because it's so recognisable, and the character itself is really unique and the detail comes across really well in the artwork.
Probably given the choice, I'd keep the Cacodemon and maybe try to utilise the doom guy elsewhere? It would be a shame to waste it.
-
@movisman I agree, I do prefer the caco, but Its a pity to left the doom guy unused. Maybe there is a system, computer or console in wich Doom was ported and it still remains on the theme. I will look forward
-
@chicuelo, AM port v1.0 is pretty much done. Would it be ok with you if i upload that on github?
Since AM doesn't follow the short names like ES (gen, nes etc) directly, I had to rename everything to standard titles (like Sega Genesis, Nintendo Entertainment System) so users could simply download and use the theme.
-
Yeah, I had a look at the systems it was ported to and they are already covered - including PC/Dosbox (which is Duke Nukem).
Hopefully it can be reused on another system. It is a pity indeed to leave him out though, however I still prefer the caco image and really like it's colour. Unless you have upload him as an alternate character jpg (named something like ports-alt.jpg) in the character directory, that way advanced users can switch them if they wish?
But if you are looking to keep the directory clean and free of excess / unused imagery, I reckon just keep it to the side and hopefully there will be an opportunity to use him soon. Will keep thinking!
Cheers

@rand0m Sorry I don't understand your request, do you mean renaming all the systems?

That is not what I meant when I talked about a new separate theme.xml.
I suggested to move the original file to the assets folder without any changes. And have a new one that would work as a config file.
There is no big code the users would have to understand, just some values they can change. Which are described in comment sections, like in the post I've made before.
I believe I have 4 or 5 options and if you still want the rename version, I had to create all those variants and I personally think that this could cause more problems than editing the file. I don't know what file would be read if someone forgot to rename one file to theme.xml or made a typo.
I will create a new branch in the next few days and you can take a look at it.
